When Autodesk abandoned FMDesktop Simple Solutions FM explored other alternatives. We came up with a shortlist which included CenterStone, Evolve FM, Planon, FM:Systems, and Archibus. There are others that could also fit your needs.

Most CAFM vendors are offering upgrade pricing for existing FMDesktop users. The offers basically fall into two categories:

1. A credit equal to the cost of your FMDesktop software can be applied to the purchase of new software from certain vendors.
2. For an amount equal to the cost of your FMDesktop subscription, vendors are offering an equivalent software "swap". Additional software (modules and seats) would be offered at current retail pricing. (Note, second year subscription pricing would be based on the vendors retail pricing, which could be substantial.)

Will Simple Solutions be selling other CAFM systems?

Following our model with FMDesktop, we will keep to offering simple and affordable systems. Two solutions that we feel best meet our model are Manhattan's CenterStone product and Evolve FM.

1. CenterStone CAFM Software

We are offering CenterStone as a hosted SaaS (Software as a Service) solution. CenterStone has consistently been judged a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant of IWMS (Integrated Workplace Management Systems).

This solution works well for those whose internal IT support is limited, non responsive or nonexistent. This is also a popular option for those who have more flexibility with a operational budget than a capital budget.

Pricing:

•  1 concurrent power user license- $380 per month.
• Optional employee self service 10 pack (concurrent license) - $380 per month.
• One time set-up fee - $1000.
• Training and implementation services are quoted per each client's needs.
• Simple Solutions FM is extending an FMDesktop transition offer to exiting FMDesktop users.

2. Evolve FM CAFM Software

We consider Evolve FM the new and improved CAFM alternative for FMDesktop. It is currently scheduled for release this July and is an exciting new entry into the CAFM market. It was developed by one of the original founders of AST (Applied Spatial Technologies), the company where FMDesktop was developed prior to being sold to Autodesk.

Evolve FM has a similar look and feel to FMDesktop so this should be an easy transition for an existing FMDesktop user.
